Similar to this discussion, I'm looking to re-fit my older road bike into a single speed. Bike has horizontal drop-outs, so nothing needed there.

what I need is to take the cassette off the hub, then install a single ring freewheel. Possibly with some redishing/spacing on the wheel hub. I don't have tools or know-how on this, looking for a mechanic who can find the parts (rear free wheel, possibly a new chain ring up front), and get this together.

thanks-alex

It's likely that you'll have to buy the adequate freewheel or the entire hub online. For the required mech procedures, I'd recommend Željko from Partizan cycling club (located in Partizan stadium complex) or Zoran from Terrano team service ([email protected]).

Alex,

I've seen several times on this forum that the following service center was recommended:
Terrano
Takovska 33
011 / 334 - 0920

You can find others here:

You'll definitely be buying required parts online, and it will COST, unless a simple counter-pedal braking system used on 100€ granpa bikes will do :) Zoran from Terrano may direct you to people who have done the conversion and who might be able to help you.
