"Many legends in this photo, from right to left:
Galina Tsareva - prominent Russian/Soviet track sprinter, 6 time world champion. Married the guy standing next to her in the photo, their son Nikolai took Olympic silver in TP in 1996, while their daughter Svetlana Kuznetsova was a top tennis player for a while (ranked No 2 in the world at some point).
Alexander Kuznetsov - legendary Russian/Soviet coach, was the head coach of Russia/USSR national teams for over 30 years and is still going strong at 82 years of age.
Vyacheslav Ekimov - needs no introduction, best and most decorated Russian/Soviet cyclist of all time
Erika Salumae - Estonian/Soviet sprinter, won back-to-back Olympic sprint gold medals in 1988/1992. Was voted best Estonian athlete of the year 10 times.
Aleksandr Kirichenko - Ukranian/Soviet cyclist, Kilo specialist. Won Olympic gold in 1988, but perhaps more famously took a bronze in the Worlds next year riding with a broken off handlebar (there's a video on Youtube).
Dmitri Nelyubin - Russian/Soviet cyclist, won gold in TP in Seoul in 1988 at 17 years of age - still the youngest ever Olympic champion in cycling. Was fatally stabbed in 2005, passed away at 34.
Nikolay Kovsh - Russian/Soviet sprinter, silver in Seoul 1988 sprint.
Vladimir Leonov - Sprint coach, worked with Kovsh and Salumae. Two times Olympian himself, took bronze in Rome in 1960. 87 years old now, still going strong and cycles every day."
